Muay Thai Leg Kick results in fractured Shin again in UFC 261

Thanks to the UFC, we once again see the weaknesses in muay thai and MMA as Chris Weidman breaks his leg in half with a low leg kick to Uriah Hall in UFC 261 on Saturday, April 25, 2021.

Just 17 seconds into the fight, Weidman attempts a muay thai leg kick with Hall simply raising his leg up resulting in Weidman’s shin to fracture in half stopping the fight.

Ironically, the same fracture occurred for Silva when he did a low kick to Weidman in a past fight in the UFC.

This proves once again the different between a sport and actual life and death fighting. Wing Chun does not do low leg kicks and instead include stop kicks that do not risk shin fractures.

Another highlight of the night was Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili KO in the first round. Rose does a feint low kick causing Zhang to lurch back and arch forward setting up Rose to switch to a head kick mid kick knocking Zhang to the ground followed by Rose finishing off Zhang with hammer fist punches to the head.
